This Rock Rocks if You're a Pinniped

These seals have taken the prime spot on the rocks. That being in the sun, above the tide and with only a few pointy barnacles. All in all, the most comfortable rock in the bay.

  • Soaking Up the Sun

    Soaking Up the Sun

If they can seals spend a large percentage of their day sleeping and sunning on the rocks. These seals spend their days sleeping on the rocks of an island in the middle Sechelt Inlet. In this picture the light colour of their fir suggests that they have been out of the water for some time. They initially gave me a wary look but quickly decided that I wasn't worth getting wet over. A few seconds after I took this picture the eyes closed, the heads dropped, and they went back to sleep.
