California Sea LIon
Weighing 500 to 700 pounds it is an impressive sight when one repeatedly breaches completely out of the water. They can get high enough to reenter the water head first but often they will fly out of the water and then do a back flop. It appears that this feat is performed strictly for the joy of it. In this case two sea lions repeatedly leap out the water for 5 or 10 minutes and then happily swam off.
